They were approached by Caribou. Caribou is the captain of the Caribou Pirates and made his debut after the time skip. He had a bounty of 210 million berries and had infiltrated the Thousand Sunny to travel with the Straw Hats. In the latest One Piece chapter, he revealed his wish to join the Blackbeard Pirates. He joining the Yonko crew would be similar to serving him the world on a golden platter.
Caribou Knows About The Ancient Weapons
It has been years since Caribou was introduced. He was a cunning and slimy character who infiltrated the Thousand Sunny, went to Fishman Island, and tried to kidnap several mermaids, including Shirahoshi. Ultimately, his plan failed, and he was beaten by the Straw Hats badly. He vowed to never take the evil path again. But in One Piece chapter 1108, he revealed his ulterior motive of joining the Blackbeard Pirates.
Even though it is not confirmed whether Catarina Devon and Van Augur would take him to the Pirate Island, Caribou possesses valuable information that could benefit Marshall D. Teach in taking over the world. During his journey to Fishman Island, he overheard the discussion about Shirahoshi being the ancient weapon, Poseidon. Poseidon has the power to communicate and command the Sea Kings. Apart from that, he also knows about Pluton.
Caribou was present when Sukiyaki, Kozuki Oden’s father and Nico Robin were having a conversation about the ancient weapon Pluton near the Road Poneglyph. Pluton is an ancient warship with massive destruction capabilities. Even though it is not revealed, he may have also taken a sneak peek at the blueprint of Pluton, which is in possession of Franky.
Caribou Could Make Blackbeard the King in One Piece
If Catarina Devon and Van Augur take Caribou to the Pirate Island to meet Blackbeard, he could reveal everything he knows. One Piece chapter 1108 revealed his motive, and to achieve it, there is no better way other than to help him conquer the world. One ancient weapon is enough to wreak havoc, and Caribou has information about two. Both parties would benefit if they met.
Blackbeard could kidnap Shirahoshi since accessing Fishman Island is not that difficult. But Fishman Island is under Yonko Luffy’s protection, and it could mean a direct challenge to him. The Blackbeard Pirates and the Straw Hat Pirates are pretty close to the One Piece. Eliminating one would make it easy for the other.
Moreover, the way One Piece is progressing, the ultimate showdown could be pretty well between Marshall D. Teach vs. Monkey D. Luffy.
