In some interesting news, Butch Hartman, creator of the Nickelodeon animated series Danny Phantom, has stated his idea of having actor Tom Holland play the main character in a potential live-action version of the show. This intriguing revelation was made during a discussion at MegaCon, where Hartman enthusiastically hinted that Holland would be a great fit for the role of the ghostly-powered teen hero Danny Fenton.
Tom Holland has expanded his acting range in recent years, showing off his versatility as a performer. Although he gained fame as Spider-Man in blockbusters, he also took on projects like The Devil All the Time, Cherry, The Crowded Room, etc. These roles allow Holland to explore dark themes and highlight his strong and impressive acting skills.
Danny Phantom Creator Wants Tom Holland to Play the Teenage Ghost If There Ever Is a Live-action
Hit Nickelodeon show Danny Phantom creator Butch Hartman, during a panel at MegaCon (via ComicBook), revealed that if a live-action Danny Phantom movie was ever made, he would want to have Spider-Man actor Tom Holland play the teenage ghost.
During the panel discussion, a fan asked Hartman, who he’d like to portray Danny Fenton.
“Tom Holland, all the way,” Hartman said. “It’s got to be Tom Holland.”
Fans have long been awaiting a live-action version of Danny Phantom. And, Hartman’s statement surely could ignite excitement, though as of now, there is no such solid news of any work regarding that project. However, popular scooper Daniel Richtman a few days back said that Paramount is developing a live-action adaptation of the much beloved Danny Phantom show. (Via Screen Time). For now, it remains to be seen whether this report from Richtman turns out to be true.
Back in 2007, Nickelodeon brought us the animated series that got us hooked – it’s all about Danny Fenton, a regular teenager whose life takes a wild turn after an encounter with his parents’ ghost portal. He gets some seriously cool superpowers, like walking through walls, turning invisible, and even flying! These newfound abilities set the scene for a bunch of thrilling ghost-hunting escapades.

While this news has made some excited, at the same time, some have stumbled upon the fact that Holland, who is 27 years old now, will be almost 30 till the production begins, if ever made. And that is the only factor that might make things a little hard.

For Holland’s part, he is ready for another challenge as he is set to portray the legendary Fred Astaire in a biopic directed by Paul King.
