The game was created by the legendary Hidetaka Miyazaki; it’s the most ambitious DLC of the company ever. Miyazaki confirmed this in an interview with Eurogamer. According to Miyazaki, the story of Shadow of the Erdtree is part of the original narrative but needs more polish for a new expansion. In terms of volume, he confirmed that this is the largest DLC ever on a game that they created. It takes place in a brand-new area and map that were not in the base Elden Ring game.
The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC will have many new things
Miyazaki explained that they want to go even further with the new design of this DLC. The Shadow of the Erdtree will bring new weapons and spells that will change battles forever. He added that there will be more than 10 new bosses to vanquish. New categories of weapons were added.
The Elden Ring DLC will also bring a new progression system that will only be available in this content. Miyazaki and the team went even further with the Miquella and Malenia situation, and you can expect that in the DLC.
Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, will be available on June 21 for a price of $39.99. The game will launch on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and PC. A Collector’s Edition with special items and a statue was also confirmed, with a limited quantity and a range price of $260. This will include a soundtrack and an art book from the game.
