While there are a lot of theories that the Elden Ring fan base comes up with regularly, only a few of them manage to stick around and leave their mark. One such speculation has been made by a user on Reddit, and it is sure to make you think about your knowledge of the game’s storyline once again.

Posted as a comment on the game’s subreddit where the original poster asked players for theories they believe in without any concrete evidence, the user predicted how Mohg and Morgott might have worked together. This has the potential to change the whole narrative of how the kidnapping of Miquella might have happened, and how Morgott might have helped in the process.

Why Morgott And Mohg Might Have Worked Together In Elden Ring

For added context, Mohg, the Lord of Blood, and Morgott, the Omen King were twins born to Queen Marika and the first Elden Lord, Godfrey. Since they were born as omens, i.e. with horns growing out of their bodies, they were locked in the Subterranean Shunning Grounds below Leyndell where they were imprisoned since birth.

The commenter has put forward speculation of how Morgott and Mohg might have worked together to lay out a plan that benefits them both. This includes how the former got to keep the throne of Leyndell for himself as Mohg would get assistance in kidnapping the empyrean twin Miquella, allowing him to potentially start his own dynasty.

This speculation, of course, remains a theory for now as there is no definite evidence backing it. However, the user has also provided us with the fact that Morgott sealed the forbidden lands once Melania returned. This would supposedly make it harder for her to pursue and rescue Miquella if she decided to.

How Hidetaka Miyazaki Might Have Potentially Hidden More Evidence In The Coming Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.

The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC for Hidetaka Miyazaki’s Elden Ring is scheduled to be released on 21st June 2024 and has millions of fans around the globe waiting for its launch. It has been confirmed ever since the release of the DLC’s official gameplay trailer how the extension would be focusing on the Miquella and the journey of our tarnished character into the Land of Shadow.

Since Mohg as a character has been deeply interwoven with Miquella, there is also the possibility that the player will be getting some more information on him and the Formless Mother outer god. It was this outer god that granted Mohg and his followers the ability to practice blood incantations, which is what allowed him to perform rituals with Miquella while he was in his cocoon.

While the chances of Morgott ever returning to life are slim to none, there is another theory that dictates how we may have not got rid of Mohg yet. It includes how the Lord of Blood rose from the blood dripping from Miquella’s hand, and how he might have still lived after getting defeated as he can go back to whatever form he was in earlier.

To travel to the Land of Shadow, the player will need to interact with Miquella’s hand found hanging out of his cocoon in Mohgwyn’s palace. As stated before, the coming extension will make our tarnished character explore this foreign land, guided by the Empyrean twin as we obtain new weapons and items and fight new enemies and demigods.

Elden Ring is available to purchase on Steam.
