Ranging from a grafted madman to a vessel of an outer god itself, the average player’s experience in Elden Ring includes fighting many different demigods throughout their journey as they collect great runes to restore order in The Lands Between.
Defeating many of these enemies ultimately means their demise, however, fans of the game, such as this user on Reddit have put forward a theory that we might have never got rid of Mohg after we defeated him in Mohgwyn’s Palace. This would essentially mean that there is an imminent return of the demigod awaiting to happen, giving him a chance to redeem himself against our tarnished character.
Fan Theory Speculates Mohg Is Still Alive In Elden Ring
Mohg is an offspring of none other than Queen Marika and the first Elden Lord Godfrey. Unfortunately, he was born with horns that would never stop growing signifying his presence as an omen, who were rejected from the grace of the Greater Will.
The accursed demigod then further goes on to gather followers and attain the blessings of the Formless Mother, an outer god, who granted him the ability to practice blood magic. These are parts of the events that eventually led Mohg to kidnap Miquella to establish a dynasty that would take away the curse of being an omen forever.
The aforementioned user has stated in their theory how Mohg may have possibly fused himself with the body of Miquella in an attempt to attain Godhood with the help of his blood rituals. The user then directs the reader’s attention to the demigod’s dialogue where he asks Miquella to abide alone for a while just before the fight begins.
Further indications of how Mohg might be infused with Miquella’s body is that he is not physically present in the arena at first but appears from a pool of blood formed by the blood dripping from Miquella’s hand.
Will We Witness The Return Of Mohg In The Coming Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC?
Bearing in mind how the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC will supposedly revolve around the character of Miquella, it is highly likely that we will witness Mohg at least one more time in the game. The recent gameplay trailer for the coming extension reveals how the player will essentially be traveling to a region called the Land of Shadow and how they will be guided by Miquella throughout their journey.
While Mohg might have failed to complete his dream of creating a dynasty, FromSoftware might have used his character to have a perfect set-up for the sequel to Elden Ring 2 featuring a civil war between outer gods. It is speculated that the anticipated sequel which has not even been announced yet will be covering the war between the Formless Mother, Scarlet Rot, and the Greater Will for the influence on The Lands Between.
Scheduled to be released on 21st June 2024, millions of fans around the globe now patiently wait for the release of the upcoming DLC so we can finally know what shenanigans Hidetaka Miyazaki has been up to.
