The map of FromSoftware’s Elden Ring, also known as The Lands Between, is segregated into different areas and hosts a variety of enemies to defeat and treasure to discover.
Furthermore, two such regions found in the game, Caelid and Mountaintops of the Giants, are notorious for being home to some of the hardest bosses in the game. While they stand to be a little farther from each other, a user on Reddit has put forward a theory that speculates how the two regions might have been connected by a bridge at a point in time.
Elden Ring Fan Theory Speculates Caelid And Mountaintop of Giants Were Once Connected
The aforementioned user started by admitting how it seems impossible for the two places to be connected at first, but further provided possible evidence that suggests that the two regions might have been connected by a land bridge before the events of the game.
The user further points the reader’s attention towards the fact that there are skeletons of giants that can be found in Caelid. This is something that should not be possible, as Giants are the type of enemies that are found in the other region instead.
The user also points out how it would have been unrealistic for Malenia to go all the way around to participate in the war against Radahn. Further evidence including the location of her divine tower suggests how there was once a land bridge located where there is now the large waterfall present between Caelid and the Mountaintop of Giants.
Nonetheless, if there was a connection between the two different regions or not, it would not happen to matter much. The reason why is the director of Elden Ring has already revealed his favorite region on the map, and it’s neither of the two mentioned above.
Director Of Elden Ring Reveals His Favorite Part Of The Lands Between
While many would think Hidetaka Miyazaki’s favorite region on the map would be a particular place or an arena, they would happen to be wrong. As the renowned director has revealed his favorite region in every soulslike map happens to be the poisoned swamp he builds.
The director also revealed how he plans to build another poisoned swamp once again for the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Many players believe that the swamp this time around would give whoever passes through the area a buildup of deathblight whenever they happen to traverse through the area.
Millions of fans around the globe are now patiently waiting for the release of the upcoming DLC, which has been scheduled for release on 21st June 2024. The coming DLC will allow the player to travel to a new map called The Land of Shadow by interacting with Miquella’s withered hand hanging out of his cocoon in the Mohgwyn Palace.
Elden Ring is available to purchase on Steam.
