British actor Henry Cavill is popularly known for portraying Superman in DC Extended Universe from 2013 to 2023. The actor was highly lauded for his portrayal of the superhero character in the movies and fans expressed their disappointment with DC Studios when David Corenswet was announced to take over the role for Superman: Legacy.
Cavill has also been a part of Netflix’s The Witcher from 2019 to 2023 along with appearing in 2020’s Enola Holmes followed by the sequel of the movie. One of the fan favorite characters of Henry Cavill is August Walker who appeared in Mission: Impossible- Fallout, alongside Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt. Cavill had opened up about receiving Tom Cruise’s famous Christmas cake.
Henry Cavill thought Tom Cruise’s Christmas gift wasn’t the most appealing gift
Henry Cavill and Tom Cruise appeared together in Mission: Impossible– Fallout and even though the two of them weren’t friends on-screen, they share a great bond off-screen. Fans also love the two of them together and the Superman actor revealed that because of the bond he formed with Cruise, he found himself on the most prestigious list in the entertainment industry.
According to Digital Fix, it is a very well-known fact that every Christmas, Tom Cruise sends white chocolate coconut cake to his close friends and colleagues. The cake from Cruise almost feels like a badge of honor for the actors and Cavill found himself on the receiving end of it. He appeared on The Jimmy Kimmel Show and shared that initially, he thought that the cake wasn’t the most appealing gift.
Cavill added during the interview,
“I thought there’s no way I am eating that. It’s gonna be made of healthy stuff. This is Christmas. I don’t do healthy at Christmas.”
The actor continued that it was his friend whose presence made him curious about the gift and he considered opening it. He continued,
“They saw the cake sitting there and said, ‘what’s that?’. I said ‘that’s a cake from Tom Cruise, ‘ and they said, ‘sorry, say that again.’ I said ‘that’s a cake from Tom Cruise’ and they said why aren’t you eating it?’”
Cavill then went on to explain that he told his friend that he was not eating it because probably it’s healthy but then as soon as they cut it open, the actor noted that it was the most luxurious, unhealthy coconut cake. Cavill ended up eating the whole thing.
Just like Henry Cavill, Glen Powell says ‘Cruise Cake is a very famous thing’
Tom Cruise and Glen Powell appeared together in Top Gun: Maverick 2023 and had the privilege to receive the Cruise Cake which is made by baker Karen Doan. Upon his appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Powell went on to talk about him receiving the very famous Christmas cake. He said,
“ Tom Cruise has this amazing tradition every holiday. He sends the Tom Cruise Cake. The Cruise Cake is a very famous thing. If you’ve worked with the actor, the other person will likely receive the cake.”
Top Gun actor shared that the cake is the most delicious cake someone has ever had. He added that it’s a coconut Bundt cake and his friends have tried the cake and they feel the same way. Talk show host James Corden upon his appearance on Heart Breakfast, said via HuffPost,
“It’s unbelievable, I would say almost everybody he meets who works on The Late Late Show gets one of these. It’s like our head writer Ian and Laurren, you know, different people that he’s met, he’s just gracious and generous. But here’s the most amazing thing. He never tried it.”
The actor had sent near about 300 cakes on a private jet from LA to London for the cast and crew of Mission Impossible in 2021.
