Over the years, Seth Rogen has starred in and created some iconic comedy films in the 21st century. In addition to being a very funny guy, he is a very talented filmmaker who has an eye for exciting projects. He and his good friend Evan Goldberg have written the films Superbad, Pineapple Express, and This is the End, while also providing the story for The Interview.
Rogen is also an executive producer on the shows Pam and Tommy, Platonic, The Boys, and Invincible. Recently, rumors started circulating that he is developing an R-rated animated Venom film. It seems the voice actor who played Venom in the Spider-Man 2 game has heard the rumors and is interested in reprising the role in the film.
Tony Todd Wants to Voice Venom in Seth Rogen’s Venom Film
Seth Rogen has not starred in the two predominant superhero franchises Marvel and DC throughout his career. In an interview some years ago, he stated that he would not fit into their world as he would be creatively stunted (via Deadline). However, he is involved in bringing together other superhero projects outside of the two big franchises including The Boys and Invincible.
Recently, he was reported to be writing and producing an R-rated animated Venom film. While he may not have the love for the Marvel brand like the fans, this is an exciting opportunity for a talented writer like Rogen to infuse in a new perspective and explore new avenues for the character.
It seems one actor is already ready to voice the character in the film. Tony Todd, who voiced Venom in last year’s Spider-Man 2 game, took to X and gave a shoutout to Rogen, reminding him that he is waiting for his call. He wrote,

Todd’s work on the game was highly praised by fans and it would be exciting if he reprised the role in the film. Since the project is R-rated, Rogen can go all out and explore the rage and complexities within the character with immense depth and brutality.
Seth Rogen is Excited to Return With Rose Byrne for Platonic Season 2
Seth Rogen reunited with Rose Byrne after the two Neighbors films for the Apple TV+ series Platonic. While they played a couple in the former, the series had them playing best friends who meet after a very long time, where one is married and the other is recently divorced. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the two actors talked about their experiences making the show.
Byrne told THR that reuniting with Rogen was a blessing and she wouldn’t have done the show if Rogen hadn’t been involved. Rogen further revealed that there are plans to do more seasons. While he was nervous about how the show would be received initially, the positive reactions from Apple and fans reassured him that there is more to be done with their characters. He said,
“Honestly, we had talked about it during the first season, but I get really nervous about how it’s going to be received. I’m not a count-your-eggs-before-they-hatch guy. I’ve done that thing where I drive around Friday night of opening weekend for my movies and go to the theaters and there’s no one in them.
I was kind of nervous about how high my standards were for what we were doing, and I wanted to make sure that we could actually do it. And then once I saw that we could, I was like, “OK, we should keep doing it. Yeah, it looks like we’re going to do more”
The first season was received very well by audiences who appreciated the fun chemistry between Byrne and Rogen. They are already looking forward to more fun adventures and wild shenanigans involving the two characters. Platonic has been renewed for a second season.
