The post-credits scene in the fifth episode of Season 2 saw the return of Seth Rogen’s Allen the Alien who looked very dead after battling three Viltrumite warriors in Season 2 Part 1. In the mid-credits scene, Allen wakes up to the sight of Thaedus by his bedside, and as shocking revelations begin to unfold, Thaedus confesses he is secretly a Viltrumite.

These mind-blowing happenings in the latest season will certainly push the story into blazing motion. In fact, Robert Kirkman shared via Variety that Rogen’s character will have a more prominent role this time.

Allen has always been a principal character of this series. He’s a funny-looking character, and he’s making funny comments, but our joke characters can slide in and out of relevance as we move through the story, and that’s something that you will see with Allen.”

He remarked that avid fans are pretty much aware of the character’s significance in the narrative, and despite his easy-going disposition, he should not be pushed to the sidelines.

Anyone who’s read the comics knows he’s one of the most important characters in the life of the series. And so just because he’s light-hearted and fun and funny doesn’t mean that he’s not a central character in the overall narrative that’s going on.”

As the plot gets more intense each episode, fans will more likely see Rogen’s Allen the Alien take up more space than usual.

There’s so much yet to come in these final three episodes, and it’s a really, really dense season — there are a lot of characters that we haven’t seen yet who’ll be introduced in these next three episodes.”

The second installment was split into two parts to let the audience take a breather, as well as have the time to digest the events in the first part. Finally, the series creator teased viewers with the update that Season 3 is happening.

I’m really excited to get to the finale and for people to see where we’re going, what we’re doing, and how we’ll leave things in Season 2, knowing that Season 3 is on the horizon.”

Season 2 will have a total of eight episodes. The first four chapters were already released in 2023, while the rest will be available to stream via Prime Video.
