Marvel projects have been subjected to widespread criticism since the conclusion of the Infinity Saga with Avengers: Endgame. Several fans have considered the recent MCU films and series to be disappointing. Adding salt to the wound, Stranger Things and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire actor Finn Wolfhard has called out Marvel movies to be mid in his latest interview.
Finn Wolfhard has risen to popularity with projects like Netflix’s Stranger Things and It film franchise. Recently he has been also spotted in Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Frozen Empire. However, despite his popularity, the 21-year-old actor’s comments have raised some controversy. A certain section of fans have subjected Wolfhard to hate for his views on Marvel.
Did Finn Wolfhard expose the reality of Marvel?
When Finn Wolfhard recently did a lie detector test for a Vanity Fair video, he revealed some interesting details about his career and preferences. During the interview, the Mike Wheeler fame admitted that he has expressed interest in joining the Marvel movies in the past. But when he was asked if he had asked his Ghostbusters co-star and MCU fame Paul Rudd to put in a good word for him, he replied with “No”.
Following that, Finn Wolfhard was asked if his loss of interest was because “MCU films have been mid recently”, and he replied “Yes”. The lie detector also confirmed that he was telling the truth. The Turning actor’s comments have raised a buzz on the internet as a certain group of Marvel fans have taken it personally.
It cannot be denied that the quality of Marvel projects has seen a significant decline in the recent past. From poor CGI to weak writing, several reasons have led the superhero franchise to be panned by critics and fans. The box office figures of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels have also proved that the superhero franchise is going through a tough phase.

This has led the Marvel fans to claim on X that he is nobody to criticize the Kevin Feige fortress. Many fans also bashed the actor saying that he had also not done anything significant after Stranger Things.

The unwarranted hate for Finn Wolfhard has also led several netizens to take a stand for him. They are urging the fandom to acknowledge his words as constructive criticism. Interestingly, Finn Wolfhard once stated to Comicbook.com that he would love to play a background character in a Marvel film- “I would like to play ‘Guy on Computer’ in the background of a Marvel movie.”
On the other hand, several fans believe that the MCU is trying to fix its mistakes once again by focusing more on quality than quantity. This has also led the studio to cancel several unimportant projects. The upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine film also has a lot of fans geared up to feel the OG Marvel experience back in the theaters.
