The entertainment industry is known for bringing people from different backgrounds and experiences together. Reunions highlight not just the deep bonds shared between artists but also put light on the struggles faced by them to climb the popularity ladder.
One such reunion which recently caused fans to awe involved two of the most popular actors in the industry today, The Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman and Oscar winner, Ke Huy Quan. The Loki actor recently shared his appreciation for long-time friend Hugh Jackman, whom he met after 24 long years.
Ke Huy Quan and Hugh Jackman: 24 years ago
Ke Huy Quan is an actor who chose to go behind the scenes in late 1990s after gaining significant respect in the industry. He did so because he felt there was a lack of opportunities for Asian-Americans actors in the industry. He chose to instead work as a stunt co-ordinator and assistant director after receiving his film degree from USC school of Cinematic Arts.
During this period Quan got the opportunity to work as the stunt co-ordinator in the 2000 film X-Men, in which Hugh Jackman starred as Wolverine. The two met on the sets for the first time and Quan also choreographed a fight scene which involved Jackman.
Now after exactly 24 years Quan met Jackman again and shared a heartfelt post on Instagram about this reunion. This titbit was a treat for fans who appreciate the journey taken by both the actors to reach where they are today. The road was long specially for Quan who after facing several hurdles finally got his due and the recognition he deserved in Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022).
The long-awaited comeback and Oscar win
Quan debuted with his appearance in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), where he played Short Round sidekick to the titular character. At a young age the child actor portrayed a lovable and charming character. Later in The Goonies (1985), through the character of Data a gadget-savvy member of the group, he became a well-known name.

Unfortunately alleged industry bias and the unfair treatment towards actors of different ethnicity caused him to take a step back from the limelight. Instead of being disheartened Quan decided to bide his time and work behind the scenes for several years. He worked as a stunt co-ordinator in various US and Asian projects, including X-Men (2000), The One (2001) and the short film, Enigma (2009).
But recently the gifted actor came into limelight not for his work behind the curtains but on the screens. In the 2022 box office hit movie Everything Everywhere All at Once, Quan portrayed Waymond Wang, a supporting role. His performance however charmed the audience once again and he was awarded the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, this move reignited his acting career and brought him the necessary exposure.
