It’s been almost a decade since Margot Robbie marked her debut in the industry with the film, About Time. Her life has changed substantially for the better ever since. The I, Tonya star has gone on to become a household name in the industry in a short span. And the roles she played in the movies have changed substantially as well. Over the years, Robbie has made it clear that she has truly blossomed into a versatile star, becoming one of the fan favorites. But she is not one to look for a stint in the spotlight. And luckily for her, neither does her husband.
Love at first sight for Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerley?
Margot Robbie met hubby Tom Ackerley on the sets of Saul Dibb’s Suite Française. Robbie essayed the role of Celine, while Ackerley was the movie’s third assistant director. And before they knew it, their hearts met. The duo would continue to deny their feelings for each other for some time.
They came quite close, even establishing LuckyChap Entertainment in association with their close friends, the studio that would go on to produce films like Barbie, Birds of Prey, and Saltburn to name a few.
It wouldn’t take long for their relationship to blossom.

Margot Robbie couldn’t be more happy
In a conversation with Vogue, Margot Robbie admitted that she couldn’t admit her feelings for Ackerley as a result of her fear of rejection. It would take a couple of years, and a turn of fortune, for them to realize that they were more than ‘just friends’. She told Vogue,
“Then it happened, and I was like, Of course we’re together. This makes so much sense, the way nothing has ever made sense before.” (Vogue)
She couldn’t be more happy with her man. Marrying Ackerley was the best thing that could have ever happened to her. She had her perfect man. And all because of the fact that he is a ‘normie’.
Margot Robbie shares why Tom Ackerley is the perfect man for her
Shedding some light on why the Terminal producer is the perfect man for her, Robbie told E! News,
“I am so lucky. He likes being behind the camera. He’s not fazed by any of this stuff. He’s just the best, it’s so fun.”
This explains why she swore that she would never date actors. In an interview with Marie Claire, she said,
“I am officially off the market. I made a conscious decision not to date actors, but not because I hate actors.” (Marie Claire)
One can easily understand why Robbie appreciates this aspect. She continued,
“I love the word ‘normie,’ yes, like all my friends, everyone’s like, ‘That’s cool what you do but it’s more fun just to hang out and talk about other stuff.’ And you’re like, ‘I know.'”
The couple tied the knot in 2016. And they haven’t turned back since, going strong over the years.
