In response, McGregor admitted to having some difficulty filming in front of the green screen. At the same time, the actor revealed his worst moment in the entire trilogy was when he had to film the climatic scene from Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.

In the scene, McGregor’s character, Obi-Wan Kenobi, is seen delivering baby Luke Skywalker to his Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru Lars, on Tatooine. However, the entire set was to be created using CGI, including the lizard-like alien creature McGregor was supposed to ride in the scene.

“The worst moment for me was the very end of this whole big Star Wars Trilogy (where) I deliver the baby.”

McGregor made the above statement about filming the climax scene. The Doctor Sleep star also revealed that he had invited some of his friends to the sets to witness the filming of the scene, which directly leads into the events of the iconic Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.

During the conversation, McGregor revealed how he inadvertently embarrassed himself in front of his friends while filming the scene. McGregor explained that the lizard-like alien was going to be created using CGI. As a result, he had to pretend to ride a green block while carrying a plastic baby, which was a funny sight for those watching from the sidelines.

“So this is what I had to do with my friends watching and George (Lucas) there. I was like this. There was no gimbal. I went like this and then I had to go like this.”

McGregor made the above statement while hilariously enacting how he pretended to ride the lizard-like alien without any proper idea of how it would look or move. As a result, it is easy to understand why McGregor had a rough time filming this particular scene.

McGregor further added that he and his co-stars were confused when director George Lucas asked them to look at the moons, which were going to be added later using CGI. Thus, McGregor embarrassed himself while working in front of his friends. However, despite his poor experience with green screens, McGregor eventually returned to the franchise, reprising his role in 2022’s Obi-Wan Kenobi.
