Nearly every single one of Bryan Cranston’s television shows has been an epic masterpiece, with Breaking Bad and Malcolm in the Middle being solid examples of that. But while Cranston only got to those shows in his adulthood, his young co-star Frankie Muniz from the superhit sitcom Malcolm in the Middle got his chance during his early years only. This not only gave his career in the industry an incredible boost but also enabled him to lead the life of his dreams.

After starring in the hit sitcom Malcolm in the Middle as the titular lead and the son of Bryan Cranston’s character, Malcolm for more than six years, Frankie Muniz then decided to take a break from acting and went on to pursue his passion for race car driving instead.

As per Nicki Swift (via People), the young celebrity left the entertainment industry in 2007 to pursue a professional career in race car driving.

“I never really wanted to get out of acting, but now I’m a professional racecar driver,” Muniz said. “Seriously, ask any actor if they’d rather be a professional race car driver or an actor.”

Yet, that doesn’t mean that he isn’t satisfied with switching from Hollywood to the race tracks.

“I’m truly the happiest I’ve ever been in my life,” he gushed, explaining, “I like the fact that I basically control my destiny with how much effort I put into working out, testing and training, and becoming a racecar driver.”

Continuing, Bryan Cranston’s co-star then went on to compare this new gig of his to acting:

“As an actor, it’s all [about] what people think of you. You can do your best job possible but if someone says it sucks, it sucks. Whereas here, if I’m good, it will show.”

And Frankie Muniz most certainly is incredibly good at it, considering his remarkable records as an active participant in car races while living in Hollywood giant and legendary actor Tom Cruise‘s dream life!

Although he officially left Hollywood in 2007, Frankie Muniz was active in the car racing industry from two years prior, i.e. 2005. From 2005 to 2011, he stepped up to participate in over multiple races and even scored four whopping podium finishes. Yet, even living his dream life wasn’t all happy-go-lucky for him.

This was because of the personal problems he faced in his relationship with his then-fiancée Jamie Gandy. Continuing in the 2007 interview, Bryan Cranston‘s co-star revealed:

“[We] kind of took a step back for the racing purposes.”

He then went on to share how amid his busy racing schedule, both had started paying attention to their own respective lives more.

“She’s doing her own thing and she wants to have her own life and not just follow me around the world.”

However, his love life with his first fiancée Jamie Gandy didn’t turn out to be as successful as his professional car racing career, and after one more failed engagement, Frankie Muniz finally tied the knot with Paige Price in 2020, and has been living happily with her all the while focusing on his car racing career.
