Starring James Gandolfini, the show aired for six seasons from 1999 to 2006 and Gaga had an uncredited role in the third season of the show. Reflecting on her performance in the HBO original, Gaga highlighted how much she has evolved as a performer.
Lady Gaga Reflecting on Her Acting Debut in The Sopranos
Lady Gaga landed her first acting role in the 9th episode of The Sopranos Season 3. The episode titled The Telltale Moozadell featured her as one of the girls from Anthony and Meadow Sopranos’ high school. Gaga reflected on her performance in the show decades later during an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
“When I look back on that scene, I can see exactly what I did wrong in that scene,” the actress shared. The scene features her along with two other girls, who laugh as Anthony and her friends start throwing everything into the pool.
The Machete Kills actress further shared how her reaction in the scene didn’t seem natural or genuine. “I didn’t know how to listen in a scene,” she shared before adding, “I was supposed to laugh, and it was sort of like, cue, laugh… I see it, and I go, ‘Oh, that’s not a real laugh.”
While she acknowledged that it was not her best performance, the Oscar-nominated actress emphasized that she has “grown a lot as an actor” over the years. Following her remarkable performances in multiple TV and silver screen appearances, Gaga is now set to star in one of the highly anticipated movies of the year, Joker: Folie à Deux.

Todd Phillips Raises Anticipation For Lady Gaga’s DC Debut
Lady Gaga has garnered immense anticipation for taking on the role of the popular DC character Harley Quinn in the upcoming film, Joker: Folie à Deux. She is set to star alongside Joaquin Phoenix in the sequel to the 2019 Oscar-winning film Joker.
The director of the film, Todd Phillip, recently shared two new shots from the upcoming film on his Instagram. One of the shots features Arthur Fleck behind a cell window, and the other showcases Gaga as a casually dressed Harley observing Fleck in his Joker attire.
Details on the highly anticipated sequel are scarce, but it is expected to be a musical thriller exploring the complex romance between Joker and Harley in Arkham Asylum. As excitement builds, fans await the filmmaker’s unique take on the iconic characters in the upcoming DC film.
