Sharon Stone, a woman endowed with such extraordinary beauty and talent, received a Golden Globe nomination and an Oscar nomination for her performance in the 1995 film, Casino. However, success doesn’t come without struggle. One of the talented actresses has suffered painful encounters, which she once discussed candidly with Attitude Magazine.
Over the course of her more than ten-year Hollywood career and early modeling days, the veteran actress most definitely has enough racy material to fill her several memoirs.
At the time of her initial arrival in Hollywood, Stone faced criticism for not being ‘s*xy’ enough. Even worse, her manager told her that no one would hire her because she “wasn’t, as they liked to say in Hollywood at the time, ‘f***able,” as she revealed in her autobiography, The Beauty Of Living Twice.

The actress, who is well-known for her iconic roles in movies like Basic Instinct and Casino, shared her experience creating a risk-taking scene that pushed boundaries and tested viewers’ comfort levels.
The scene belonged to the 1984 American comedy-drama film, Irreconcilable Differences, also featuring, Drew Barrymore, Ryan O’Neal, and Shelley Long. The Casino actress claimed that the humiliation she went through while filming her first movie had a profound effect on her.

“When I did my first movie which was Irreconcilable Differences, I had a topless scene. And they didn’t even clear the set. Everybody’s on set, like a million people on the set. And I take off my top and this actor screams, ‘Would you get out of the f***ing way? I can’t even see her t***s.’”

She went on to say that this incident actually made her feel “terrified”:
“And I’m so terrified. You know when you can hear your heartbeat in your ears? That’s all I could hear. And I hear him scream, ‘Get out of the way, I can’t see her f***ing t***.’”
Moreover, the actress admitted that this was her worst “nightmare”:
“I’m just like, talk about no intimacy co-ordinator. It was such a nightmare. I mean, when they asked me if I had any #MeToo experiences….”
Sharon Stone Faced Prejudice In Her Early Career
Sharon Stone claimed that because she was so “beautiful”, prejudice against her talent was common in her early career. The Casino star indicated:
“My whole career has been about how all my performances are accidents. It’s the whole thing about the way women are marginalized. Especially if you’re beautiful, which when I was a young girl, I have now recognized that I was a beautiful young actress and there’s a great deal of prejudicial behavior about being talented and beautiful.”

Despite her success, Stone also struggled to find employment after turning 40. When speaking about her critically acclaimed performance in Casino alongside Robert De Niro, she said:
“It’s very, very liberating, but it’s not that liberating when you’re a 40-year-old woman in Hollywood and you do that and then everybody… there’s nowhere to go. Nobody hires you.”
Sharon Stone was last seen 2022 American drama film, Beauty. Directed by Andrew Dosunmu, the film is available to stream on Netflix.
