Heard, on the other hand, moved to Spain with her daughter to turn over a new leaf. Even with all the settlements done, the damage remained the same and left a huge scar on both of them.

Johnny Depp Reflects On His Life Post-Trial Against Amber Heard

It resonates just in the sense that this guy, within his circle, let’s say, within his world, he had to be available kind of at all times. And yet he was, in a sense, hidden away and living his life that way. So the layers between him and the real world, they start to get thicker and weirder.”

Depp had always lived in the public eye since he was 21 years old after starring in 1984’s A Nightmare on Elm Street. He’s pretty much used to the paparazzi and the chaos of Hollywood. After the court battle, the actor started to feel like he was being removed from the scene.

It has been something like that for me at times. I certainly wouldn’t complain about it ever, but there is a part of you that is kind of cut off from the world. Where, if you go out, it gets weird, you know? It just gets weird.”

The 60-year-old actor has a fascination for playing bizarre characters on the screen, but nothing is stranger than coming out of the courthouse, and suddenly, the world he used to know is not the same anymore.

Did Hollywood Begin To Boycott Johnny Depp?

During a Cannes press conference, Depp was asked if he ever felt shunned by Hollywood after his long and strenuous court battle. He said (via People):

Do I feel boycotted now? No, not at all. But I don’t feel boycotted by Hollywood because I don’t think about it. I don’t think about Hollywood. I don’t have much further need for Hollywood myself.”

He further explained how he never really went away, and there was no need for a comeback. “As a matter of fact, I live about 45 minutes away,” he joked. He presumed that fans who wished for his return to the industry feared that he might leave once and for all after his fight against Amber Heard.

As promised, Depp continued to take movie projects, although it remains uncertain whether he will reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean films.
