Tom Holland’s Spider-Man somewhat changed the very vibe of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Also, he has been closer to perfection when it comes to playing the titular Marvel superhero as the studio wanted. After the studio kept him in a slew of doubts, he was finally cast as the new Spider-Man. But how does Holland handle all the fame? His on-screen lover and real-time girlfriend, Zendaya reflected on his life that changed after his MCU role. “We were both very, very young,” Zendaya said in a chat with Vogue.

“But my career was already kind of going, and his changed overnight. One day you’re a kid and you’re at the pub with your friends, and then the next day you’re Spider-Man. I definitely watched his life kind of change in front of him. But he handled it really beautifully.”

Zendaya who starred alongside Holland in Spider-Man: Homecoming (her MCU debut) as Michelle Jones-Watson has seen the showbiz glitters before her MCU debut. The actor previously appeared in Disney Channel’s show, Shake It Up, and the sitcom, K.C. Undercover. Of course, the fame after their MCU appearance is unmatched but the duo handled it with acute prowess.

Holland came clean about the fandom surrounding him. Appearing in Q’s Tom Power CBC Podcast, the actor revealed that he never wanted to be an actor just for the fandom. He has been in his own game, doing things secretly that were not on his card, at least, going against the waves of the studio producers.

“The secret is, you might be under contract and you’re not allowed to go snowboarding. Guess what? I go snowboarding all the time. They just don’t know about it. I don’t care. I like my life. I’m going to enjoy myself. I’m confident I’m not going to break my leg.”

But fame, Holland admitted, comes with a huge price to pay, “Now I get followed everywhere I go.”

He added:

“There’s paparazzi that sit outside my house. I can’t have a relationship with someone without it being front page news.’ And the third film came out and it kicked up to another level, that has now been life changing.”

But in his attempt to find the balance from the trapping fame Holland found the ultimate life hack for any celebrity, keeping just a close circle of people “know me for me.” The actor will appear in Spider-Man 4 although many details of the upcoming MCU project are still under wraps as of writing this piece. Still, the upcoming movie teases another blockbuster from MCU.
