With his exceptional acting skills and the way his character connects with the audience, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man became one of the fan-favorite characters in the MCU. Holland had described 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home as the most ambitious standalone superhero movie ever made and despite its release during the pandemic, the movie became the highest-grossing movie of 2021. Last year in June, the actor during his interview with THR was asked for an update on the upcoming and highly awaited Spider-Man 4 movie to which he said,

“It’s a collaborative process. The first few meetings [with Marvel executives] were about ‘Why would we do this again?’ And I think we have found a reason why. I’m really, really happy with where we’re at in terms of the creative.”

During the discussion, Holland who has always been admired for how endearing he makes Peter Parker look on-screen did not hesitate to acknowledge the fact that fourth installments in a franchise are a hit and miss. At the time, Thor: Love and Thunder was released and it did not perform the way the studios had expected it to. In regards to the same, Tom Holland said,

“There’s a bit of a stigma about the fourth one in all franchises. I feel like we hit a home run with our first franchise and there’s a part of me that wants to walk away with my head held high and pass the baton to the next lucky kid that gets to bring this character to life.”

However, according to ComicBook.movie producer Amy Pascal when asked if she would ever like to bring Miles Morales alongside Peter Parker, explained that they are completely separate words. She also added that she wanted to keep going with this franchise with Tom Holland. However, there is just one confirmation from a source which is that the movie’s script is being written currently.

Tom Holland wants his Spider-Man 4 character to be worth the while

Daniel Ricthman claimed that the reason for Drew Goddard taking over Jon Watts’ role as the director is because of his decision to not sign up for the movie. However, it remains a mystery why Watts is hesitant to make another Spider-Man movie. Still, there has been no confirmation from the Marvel studios about Jon Watts’ replacement or the involvement of the other two superheroes.

Tom Holland had also noted during an interview that he’d only return to play Spider-Man if the character is worthwhile because he does not want to make another Spider-Man movie for the sake of making one.
