Daniel Radcliffe Shot An Intense Scene With His Co-Star

There was a particular moment while filming a scene, as Daniel Radcliffe told MTV News when he wanted to tap into extreme emotions.

Gary Oldman, now aged 65, helped him achieve the desired goal by rehearsing the scene with him that Radcliffe thought was too intense for a 15-year-old to handle.

“[Gary Oldman] came up to me and said, ‘Do you mind if we get a bit intense?’ And then he came towards me. I thought he was going to hold me, but he shook me and screamed at me! So hard that when he let me go, I almost fell.”

The trick, as he recalled, worked and he noted that the best experience he had was while filming Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Oldman was quite impressed by witnessing Radcliffe’s growth over the years with his career choices.

Daniel Radcliffe Is Keeping Up Acting But Not For Money Anymore

Earning massively ($95.6 million) from the franchise, Daniel Radcliffe told George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight that he stepped away from the glitz and partying to take up acting more seriously.

He also told Collider in an interview that he matured quite a lot working alongside Gary Oldman, who has recently played President Harry S. Truman in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer.

“I want to work with more people like you. I don’t want to walk away from this. I don’t want this suddenly to end and suddenly for me not to be in this industry,” Radcliffe recalled saying to Oldman.

He even expressed to The Guardian once that he had plans to move away from the franchise after Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban but chose to stay anyway.

Daniel Radcliffe last appeared in The Lost City alongside Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum. The film released on March 25, 2022.
