Ever since the advent of the Monsterverse in 2014 with Godzilla, the subsequent films in the series have been nailing the formula and fine-tuning it to make this one of the most beloved cinematic franchises in the world.

Thus, the upcoming Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire is all set to make good on the hopes of people to deliver fans some exceptional Kaiju action.

And as if that wasn’t enough, the director of the upcoming film, Adam Wingard, recently talked with Discussing Film about his project, where he also revealed that he already has plans to explore this universe further with both the Kaijus in his mind.

He said that the only condition to meet for his plans to come to fruition will be the amount of success it receives that the studio is looking for. He said:

“The whole idea that if you’ve done two movies, like, maybe you should just go ahead and do a third because, as you said, there’s a trilogy in there, I definitely think there’s more story to this, and I think that I have more story to tell. But it just depends on how [Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire] does and how things kind of shape out.”

While it may be a standard cookie-cutter response, it’s also by far the only necessity for more Kaiju action to be experienced on the big screen.
