After breaking box office records with his 2022 film Top Gun: Maverick, Cruise once again amazed everyone with his action sequences in the upcoming Mission: Impossible film. Tom Cruise’s Mother’s Reaction to His Action Sequences

Tom Cruise joined Jimmy Kimmel on his late-night talk show for his upcoming Mission: Impossible film. While talking about his passion for action sequences, the actor also talked about his mother, Mary Lee Pfeiffer, and her reaction to his work.

The Top Gun star shared that his mother has always encouraged him and never stopped him from doing what he wanted to do. However, when she got to know about his extreme and daring stunts, she was understandably terrified and worried about his safety.

Tom Cruise shared that he once showed her his action sequences from Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, in which he is hanging off the side of a plane. Her mother, not sure about what she was seeing, asked him, “Honey, is that you on the side of that airplane?”

[Tom Cruise] said, “Yes ma’am,” and she goes “Oh lord, I’m so glad you didn’t tell me about that one. I just don’t need to know.”

The Jack Reacher star further shared that he just kept the action scenes away from her. Mary Lee Pfeiffer was a teacher and passed away in February 2017 following unspecified health issues. She has always been supportive of her son.

Tom Cruise Always Had a Passion For Being an Action Star

During his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Tom Cruise shared that he always had a passion for being an action star. Talking about his upcoming film, he shared that he wants to do every possible thing to entertain people. The Knight And Day star shared that as a kid, he used to “steel lumber from junkyard” to ride down the hill as fast as possible.

“Even as a little kid like I used to steel lumber from junkyard, and then I’d ride down the hill as fast as I could and hit the ramp and go over garbage cans, you know, to do that when I was a little kid.”

However, things would not go as planned for the little action star, and he would end up in the hospital for the next few days. The Tropic Thunder star shared that it was something that always thrilled him. And he plans to continue his great work as long as he can.

He also shared that his mother always supported him. Mary Lee Pfeiffer reportedly encouraged her son to try out for high school theater productions seeing his passion for acting. Cruise is set to return to the big screen as the IMF agent Ethan Hunt in the upcoming Mission: Impossible film.
