Barbra Streisand was recently honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 30th annual SAG Awards on Saturday night. In her career spanning over 60 years, she has starred with several great actors and garnered numerous accolades. However, she also was at the center of several rumored feuds with fellow actors and celebrities. One prominent fan theory was that Streisand couldn’t stand actress and television personality, Oprah Winfrey.
Fans sensed some tension between Streisand and Winfrey when the Funny Girl actress appeared on the latter’s show in 2003. There were several back-and-forth comments made during the show and many still believe that the two might not be on the best terms.
Fans Believe Barbra Streisand And Oprah Winfrey Don’t Like Each Other
At the 30th SAG Awards, Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Aniston honored Barbra Streisand with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Cooper earlier directed the remake of Streisand’s 1976 film, A Star is Born. She received a standing ovation from the star-studded crowd for her multi-talented career as a singer, actress, songwriter, and filmmaker. Over the years, Streisand also gained a reputation for being difficult to work with.
She had issues with several celebrities and one of the widely speculated Streisand feuds was the one between her and Oprah Winfrey. While appearing on Winfrey’s show in 2003, The Prince of Tides actress threw subtle shades at the host. It all started when Winfrey turned the audience’s attention towards the microphone that Streisand was holding.
The host mocked Streisand’s demanding behavior by sharing that the What’s Up, Doc? star made her staff spray-paint the mic to match the “white” sweater she was wearing. Streisand corrected Oprah Winfrey, stating that it was an “off-white” sweater, however, she explained why she wanted the microphone the same color. She shared that the mic will blend in with her sweater, thus attracting focus towards her song. Streisand told Oprah Winfrey:
“I like simplicity and monochromatic frames so … if the mic melts in my sweater … it just makes them focus on the song.”
However, Streisand did not let Winfrey’s teasing slide by, as she subtly called The Color Purple actress out for making her uncomfortable. When Streisand’s dog started restlessly wiggling on her lap, the Little Fockers actress told her pup during the show:
“I know we’re going to go. I know you don’t like this publicity … You feel used. You don’t want to be used; I know what you mean.”
It was probably a hint that she didn’t want to be on a show that made her uncomfortable. Oprah was in no mood to let the microphone slide and told the actress that the crew did indeed spray-paint the mic. An irritated Barbra Streisand just replied, “That’s right,” before moving on to discuss other topics.

At the 75th Golden Globes in 2018, Barbra Streisand presented the Motion Picture — Drama Award to Martin McDonagh’s Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. More than the award presentation, one particular Barbra Streisand moment caught the audience’s attention. Oprah Winfrey won the Cecil B. DeMille Award for Lifetime Achievement and used her acceptance speech to praise the women who have come forward during the #MeToo movement.
During her speech, the camera panned to Streisand who made an annoyed face. Fans immediately noticed the weird moment and took to X to comment on it. One fan asked in disbelief if Streisand gave Oprah the stank face. Another shared that Streisand gave her “pretty b*tch in all of us” face to Oprah’s speech.

However, later in 2018, Streisand shared a throwback photo of herself and Oprah Winfrey. It almost convinces fans that the two are more like frenemies than feuding enemies.
