The X-Men actor knew that his Logan co-star would be absolutely perfect for the role after he got punched by her during auditions. During Comicbook.com‘s Quarantine Watch Party of the X-Men movie, director James Mangold and Jackman reflected on their time working with the young star, praising her for her acting talent.

The Prisoners actor revealed,

“When [Mangold] came up [with] the character of Laura, and that the movie was in essence about family we were worried about finding the right fit. Until we met [Dafne Keen]. The first day we auditioned her … she punched me in the arm so hard, I was literally bruised the next day. Hired.”

Her return to the MCU would surely going to be a big deal for fans, who enjoyed how she carried the movie with her potential. Even the director himself addressed the same as he shared,
