Even though they have both dabbled in all kinds of genres, comedy has never been a part of it. While there are some jokes here and there, movies like Oppenheimer and shows like Person of Interest cannot be put in the category of comedy.

“I think it was really important for me to get his input after [filming] on the cut because of the tone. This is the closest that I’ve come to working on — or that I think either of us have worked on — to a comedy.”

Speaking on this, Nolan revealed that this was an interesting challenge for them and something they welcomed with open arms. The reason for their dedication to keeping the comedy in was the source material. The Fallout games are famously hilarious, and fans would have certainly been upset if such a significant element was missing from the adaptation.
