The Vampire Diaries is among the most successful and longest-running television shows ever. The supernatural teen drama was created by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec. It is based on the book of the same name, written by L. J. Smith. The show was among the top-rated show when it started airing in 2009, and millions of fans loved the love triangle between Elena and the Stephan brothers. Pedro Pascal auditioned for Marcel in The Vampire Diaries
Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley‘s show The Vampire Diaries was among the most popular shows on telly screens for almost a decade. The show aired for eight seasons with 171 episodes from 2009 to 2017. The Originals was a spin-off of The Vampire Diaries, and it followed the life of vampire-werewolf hybrid Klaus Mikaelson as he and his family try to survive in New Orleans.
Charles Michael Davis had joined TVD as Originals vampire Marcel Gerard. As per the reports by Entertainment Weekly, the actor had stiff competition with another talented actor for the role. Show creator Julie Plec recalled,
“One of the other people who read opposite Charles for that part was Pedro Pascal, who I loved. I was obsessed with him, but he was just on the older side.”
However, the role was given to Charles Michael Davis due to Davis’ swag. Plec explained in the interview that Marcel needed an attitude to operate and breathe in the same space as Klaus.

The 48 years old actor Pedro Pascal has been impressing his fans over the years with his versatile acting and varied shows as well as movies. The actor is presently winning hearts with his role as Din Djarin, a character from the Star Wars franchise who appears as the lead in the Disney+ television series, The Mandalorian. The actor was also highly appreciated for his series The Last Of Us.
The actor came to the limelight with his role in the super-successful show Game of Thrones in 2014. He was also seen in the cast of the Netflix show Narcos as Javier Peña: a real DEA agent. Some of his films include The Great Wall, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, The Equalizer 2, and If Beale Street Could Talk. He also the DCEU as a villain in Wonder Woman: 1984, released in 2020.
