But what many fans might not know is that those iconic curls weren’t entirely natural. While Wolfhard sported his own impressive locks throughout much of the series, there were times when hair extensions were used for the actor at such a young age. But the story behind these extensions is more than just a hairstyling choice – it’s actually quite amusing.

Finn Wolfhard Had to Wear hair Extensions As Early As Stranger Things Season 1

In a recent interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Finn Wolfhard discussed details from the shooting of Stranger Things including how he had to use hair extensions at a young age. He revealed that there was his original hair for much part but he had to use clip-in hairs as well.

The actor also recounted a moment when his hairdresser was clipping his hair more than what was required. However, just like the rest of us, Wolfhard was too shy and polite to point out the dresser and “was just watching it happen in slo-mo”.

“I heard that you had to wear hair extensions at a very young age on this show, is this true? I hate hair extensions.” Asked Kelly Clarkson “Yeah, Yeah, I got.”

“Yeah, look at that guy.” Yeah, I look very Farquadian. (Finn Wolfhard reacting to his image from season one) I mean, that looks like all my real hair, but there was, like, a time when we were shooting the first season where, like, a hairdresser was, like, talking to me, and, like, got too distracted, and just kept going shorter and shorter and shorter.

And I was like, the whole time, I was just watching it happen, like, in slow-mo, (audience chuckling) just being like, “Should I say something?” “I’ll just let her. I’ll just let her keep talking,”

Wolfhard also revealed that he “was wearing a toupee right now” during the interview. Thus, quick hair extensions are now no longer a cumbersome task for the Stranger Things actor.
