I’m going to talk fast and try not to cry. Thank you so much to our cast, everybody on that stage. It is an honor to be on stage with you every single night, and I will miss it so much.

He gave thanks to his parents and his partner, Erin Darke. Radcliffe also mentioned his cast mates Jonathan Groff and Lindsay Mendez.

I don’t really have to act in this show, I just have to look at you and feel everything I want to feel. I will never have it this good again.

The 34-year-old actor told USA Today that he initially did not know what he would be doing after working for so long in the Harry Potter franchise. He recalled genuinely crying on the last day of filming because he was thinking, “I don’t know what happens now. This has been all my life has been and I don’t know where I go from here,” he admitted.

Radcliffe knew in himself that acting had always been his passion, although he had no idea how long he would be doing it. “So, to be here now, doing this show, I couldn’t have wished for anything more,” he said of the stage production.

Charley Kringas is Radcliffe’s fifth Broadway role since 2008’s Equus, but this is his first-ever Tony nomination – and win.

Aside from Merrily We Roll Along, he has appeared in other Broadway roles such as Martin McDonagh’s drama The Cripple of Inishmaan (2014). In London, he has also starred in the revivals of Tom Stoppard’s Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead (2017) and Samuel Becket’s Endgame (2020).
