“I’m addicted to Tom,–He’s my drug. I adore him.”
Tom Cruise also chimed in by saying,
“I thought she was amazingly sexy and stunning. It grew into love and respect. I say to myself, Thank God I made the right choice in marrying her, and was fortunate enough that she said yes. I knew she was it for me. I absolutely knew—I just knew it.”
However things changed, and that is when Penelope Cruz came into the picture. Although there were many reasons for the divorce, people speculate his alleged affair with Cruz was one on the long list. The two crossed paths while Kidman and Cruise were still married. Thus, although Kidman since then has never spoken up publically about her divorce, multiple sources have confirmed time and again that it took her a while to get out of the habit of being married to the Mission: Impossible star.

As discussed before, there were a lot of factors that led to the divorce. But by far the most popular and bizarre one was Tom Cruise being gay. Thus, the publication Vanity Fair made sure, Nicole Kidman addresses the rumor. She said,
“I did not marry into a marriage of convenience,–I would never, ever do that. You marry for love. We’re both heterosexual. We have a lot of homosexual friends, and neither of us would shy away from having a homosexual role. He played the vampire Lestat and didn’t give a sh*t. But I take offense if people say I would marry into a marriage of convenience. I think that’s very sexist, because they’re saying, ‘She married for fame and money.’ It’s bullsh*t.”
She was very prompt to shut down the rumors and saved both her as well as Tom Cruise’s faces. Kidman explained how her marriage with the star was not some kind of negotiation but was based on mutual love and respect for one another. After their highly publicized divorce, the Top Gun star moved on with Cruz however got dumped only a few years later. On the other hand, Kidman tied the knot with Keith Urban in 2006 and are still together.
