Out of the many decisions Blizzard has made over the years, releasing Overwatch 2 might have been the worst one yet. Despite promising that there would be a PvE experience delivered to players with the release of the said sequel, the studio failed to realize the same, and the rumor about why it happened hints at why it would never catch up to the original game.
One of the major selling points of the said sequel was how it planned to add a narrative to the game, something that the first game failed to achieve. However, the players were met with disappointment when the anticipated title was released without any of the promised features, with the whole idea being scrapped later.
Why A PvE Experience Was Never Added To Overwatch 2
As many would know by now, Blizzard has completely given up on delivering a proper PvE experience to the players of the game despite what they promised initially. The studio has instead decided to focus on the PvP aspect of the game, which might seem like the right decision to focus on, but takes away the need to introduce a sequel to Overwatch in the first place.
For those who remember correctly, the studio chose to rather release single-player story missions instead of releasing a fully-fledged narrative-driven mode. However, according to certain rumors, the idea was soon dropped after the studio failed to drive sales towards the first batch of these single-player missions released last year.
The failure to implement a feature that was promised long before the release of a title proves nothing but the fact that Overwatch 2 might never be able to catch up to the popularity and the heights of its predecessor.

Furthermore, the studio hasn’t exactly been in the highlights recently for good reasons, as they have decided to ruin a competitive player’s career for using 2 measly words. Amongst all the chaos, the only thing Overwatch 2 might have going for itself is how the developers plan to soon begin cracking down on those players who gain an unfair advantage over others.
Developers Of Overwatch 2 To Soon Punish Players Using Unapproved Peripherals To Play The Game
One of the only responsibilities Blizzard seems to be taking care of right now is to keep the playing ground level for the players, especially those who play the game on their consoles. As it turns out many of the players resort to using devices readily available in the market that trick their consoles into thinking the input is coming from a controller, when in reality the user is making use of a keyboard and a mouse instead.
According to a recent blog post, Blizzard has been keeping track of such players for multiple seasons now, and will soon start taking action with the beginning of Season 11. Punishment will be delivered in multiple phases for common players, with High Elo players looking at a potential perma-ban to their account if they don’t start playing by the conventional methods once again soon.
