Helldivers 2 is a title that became an instant hit for an excellent reason. Despite being a live-service game, it has proved itself in the video game fraternity, and despite the PSN ID controversy, which dampened its growth, it is now back to its former glorious status.
The game is set around the premise of the Super Earth being at war with two factions, Automatons and Terminids, separately. The primary agenda is for Super Earth to face any of the two factions at a time, but to turn the chaos to eleven, a fan has suggested a triple-threat conflict.
A Redditor’s Wild Suggestion of a Triple Threat Scenario in Helldivers 2
Helldivers 2 is undoubtedly a popular game but has come under fire recently for its balancing choices. The entire plot of the game revolves around Super Earth exterminating Terminids to farm FTL fuel and wiping automatons.
The game is already chaotic enough and can turn incredibly brutal, significantly, if one raises the difficulty level for a more significant challenge. However, what no one expects or wouldn’t want to encounter is the two enemy factions fighting against each other and the Super Earth’s divers simultaneously.
This was suggested by a fan of the game on the game’s subreddit, who stated the following:
It is worth noting that the Terminids attack by closing in and swarming. At the same time, the Automatons use ranged hits. Hence, due to the difference in strategy required to deal with both, each planet a squad of divers goes to has only one of the two factions. While a proposition made by the Redditor sounds fun in theory, it might even make things worse.
What the Helldivers 2 Subreddit Thinks of the Proposition by the Player
The Helldivers 2 community used to be a welcoming and helpful bunch, but the toxicity is setting in, in a big way, with fans unhappy with a number of factors. From poor updates by Arrowhead to bugs that break the game and make it unplayable/the previous mission a waste of time, and much more, it’s turning pretty toxic for many.
A comment by a Redditor highlighted that not only will it be overwhelming for the players if three factions are fighting each other, but the game will also not be able to take it:

Naturally, if one adds the scenario of fighting against not one but two enemy factions simultaneously, the game’s skill curve will become even more unforgiving than it already is, leading to even more moments born out of rage.
Moreover, even if something like that is to be implemented, it would have to be done after making changes to the game’s enemy class design, which might require radical changes.
