It will be a hard task to live up to the legacy that Kelsey Grammer and Nicholas Hoult created with the character. However, Ritchson certainly has the acting chops to showcase the ferociousness of Beast, and his recent works are proof of that. His surprising dramatic work in Ordinary Angels also confirms that he can also bring the emotionality required to ground the character.
Alan Ritchson Says Reacher Season 3 Will Put the Titular Character in Uncharted Territory
Alan Ritchson has wrapped shooting the third season of Amazon’s hit series Reacher. Similar to season 2, the new season is expected to take place in a new place with new characters. In an interview with Comicbook.com, the actor revealed that Jack Reacher will be placed in a new world and will go on an exciting new adventure.
He further stated that they found the perfect adventure for the character that is not limited by his family or his past like previous seasons This time, the character gets sucked into an adventure with unfamiliar allies and threats. Ritchson said,
I can’t say too much about Season 3, but I will say there’s a lot of classic Reacher stories which are just adventures that he gets sucked into in a big way. We get to enjoy Reacher in a new world. It may not have anything to do with family, with his past, he’s just living that adventure out, and that’s kind of the direction that we’ve gone, and it seems to really be working.
Reacher is not known to stick in one place for too long and it is natural for him to move to another foreign place and find things to fix. As per Ritchson’s words, the character may find it harder to pull off his vigilantism this time without familiar faces. Season 3 of Reacher is expected to premiere on Amazon Prime sometime next year.
