Captain America 4 still has almost a year to hit the global theatres, but in a strategic move to create hype among fans, Marvel showed a glimpse of the upcoming sequel to the attendees at CinemaCon. Starring Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson in the role of the new Captain America, the film garnered positive reviews.
As Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige showed off the brand new look at 2025’s Captain America: Brave New World at CinemaCon 2024, the first thing that the film reminded fans of was Chris Evans’ Winter Soldier. Offering their opinions on the clip of the upcoming film that is yet to be released officially, fans and attendees took to social media.
Captain America 4 Dropped a First Glimpse at CinemaCon 2024
Following Chris Evans’ exit from MCU, as Anthony Mackie took over Captain America’s mantle as Sam Wilson, in Captain America: Brave New World, fans got all hyped for the film. Set to release in February 2025, the upcoming movie is making headlines as Kevin Feige is strategically dropping the first glimpse at different events.
After previously sharing exclusive footage starring Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford at San Diego ComicCon via THR, Kevin Feige yet again dropped a first glimpse of Captain America 4 at CinemaCon 2024. According to reports from The Direct, the upcoming movie made quite the buzz, after attendees were greeted with an exclusive footage.
The Clip Reminded Fans of Chris Evans’ Winter Soldier
The CinemaCon footage that has not been officially released online, saw Sam Wilson’s star-spangled adventures after he took over Steve Rogers’ position to be the next Captain America. As he stepped into the role of the new Cap, Anthony Mackie’s Sam gets forced to contend with Tim Blake Nelson’s Leader, as well as Harrison Ford‘s President Thunderbolt Ross, with whom he might not see eye to eye.
Feige is billing Cap 4 in a the same vein of Winter Soldier — and the footage looks like it's nailed that

“I want Captain America to rebuild the Avengers.” Anthony Mackie on stage now to promote #CaptainAmerica Brave New World – just introduced a clip that featured Carl Lumbly’s Isaiah going rogue and attacking the White House. Cap steps in to try to help out.

Previously, ahead of sharing the trailer at ComicCon, Kevin Feige had drawn an exciting comparison between Captain America: Brave New World and MCU’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier. This time at CinemaCon, fans appeared to have realized that very similarity on their own. According to reviews shared online, attendees were immediately reminded of Chris Evans’ 2014 movie, following the exclusive trailer.
Fans Shared Their Opinions on Captain America: Brave New World
After realizing Kevin Feige’s subtle call back to the tradition of making Captain America 4 a “relatively grounded action thriller” much like Chris Evans’ Captain America: The Winter Soldier, those in attendance at CinemaCon shared their thoughts on social media. Co-host of The Hot Mic podcast, Jeff Sneider revealed how the exclusive trailer showed Isaiah Bradley as a musically-activated sleeper agent.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD footage references an act of heroism Sam Wilson did down in Mexico. Music can activate sleeper agents (incl. Isaiah Bradley) who try to kill Harrison Ford, whose inner circle has been compromised. He either can't see that… or doesn't want to.

Anthony Mackie's standalone Captain America film looks fantastic. If Jason Bourne flirted with mechanical wings and a shield.

Captain America: Brave New World's footage is a massive win.
They acknowledge Ross looks different. Ross wants to rebuild an Avengers team. Sam & Joaquin went on a successful mission and the President is proud. Isaiah Bradley ends up possessed in Winter Soldier brainwash style,… pic.twitter.com/LQbhkWXe3V
