Donning the suit of Vader, the Canadian actor did a great job by brilliantly playing the character in the Star Wars. The creator of the epic space opera, George Lucas said he picked Christensen because he had the right vibe for the Dark Side.

As of now, it’s unclear if he’ll return for more. But Star Wars fans can hold onto something because the actor himself gave a positive update about his possible return as Darth Vader.

Hayden Christensen Eager to Reprise Darth Vader Role

Hayden Christensen‘s comeback in Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka is a big win for himself as well as for his character. Fans were over the moon to see him return as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader.

Earlier, in 2005, when Revenge of the Sith came out, the 42-year-old believed he was done playing the role. But, when he got the chance to play the role again in the two Disney+ series, he was ecstatic beyond words.

Christensen stated that coming back as Anakin Skywalker was “fantastic” and he enjoyed how everything turned out. The Vancouver native told Entertainment Weekly:

“I would love to get to do more, and I’d love to get to continue with Star Wars and we’ll see. I don’t know what the future holds, and if such an opportunity presents itself, I’ll be there with a big smile on my face. And if it doesn’t, I feel really grateful for getting to come back and getting to do the work that I did in both Obi-Wan and Ahsoka.”

He expressed interest in doing more Star Wars projects if the opportunity arises. It is a positive sign that may open doors for future opportunities for him.

It’s uncertain what lies ahead for Christensen. If Ahsoka has a second season and since we saw Force ghost Anakin in the finale, it would make sense if the actor could return for more in Ahsoka Season 2. Dave Filoni’s upcoming movie might also include a cameo from Christensen.

In the same interview with Entertainment Tonight, when asked “what’s it like when you go back and watch yourself from 20 years ago in those films?” Hayden Christensen replied:

“I’ve done it a few times now in preparation for these last couple of projects. And it is certainly a heavy dose of nostalgia and you’re sort of transported back to that time in your life and when we were making those films.”

The Takers star said it brings back nostalgic memories and reminds him of the time when they were filming. Despite being critical of his own performances, he looks back fondly on the films and believes that the films have aged well. Returning to the character holds great personal significance in his life.
