Initially, as the show began, Juno Temple’s character Keeley Jones appeared as a bright soul who was a star footballer’s girlfriend. But eventually, it portrayed how her flame was getting dimmed by the stereotype of her relationship status, until her unlikely friendship with Rebecca Welton rekindled her inner brightness, all over again. But somehow, despite previously noting how her onscreen character “has been a ray of light” to her and “helped with my mental health,”, Juno Temple admitted that she was glad to bid goodbye to Keeley Jones. Speaking with Variety, the actress noted how she didn’t get enough time to let go of her Ted Lasso character, for she was hired to appear in the fifth season of Fargo, right after.

I had to finish that job so quickly and then start “Fargo” so quickly that in a weird way, I’m actually quite grateful for the fact that I didn’t have a long window of goodbye with Keeley — because I’m obviously going to miss her.”

Following her conversation on how she had to bid goodbye to Keeley Jones, Juno Temple teased the idea of a potential spin-off.

She was a really happy person to play, even though she had her complicated moments and went through a lot, too. She’s somebody who wants everybody to feel the best they can that day. That was a very precious character to have gotten to play for three years.”

Although Hannah Waddingham previously clarified via The Hollywood Reporter that “there’s been no word of a spinoff at all”, fans couldn’t let go of their hope. Meanwhile, Temple’s comments spurred further conversation about the spinoff series.
