Salma Hayek is one of the most talented actresses and a deserving A-lister. One of the most notable losses was for the role of Trinity in the blockbuster hit, The Matrix, which grossed over $460 million. The role was given to actress Carrie-Anne Moss.
Salma Hayek opened up on her audition on Jada Pinkett’s Facebook series, Red Table Talk, where she revealed the story about her embarrassing audition. Hayek said,
“We were one of the four finalists for The Matrix.”
The actress shared that she was not prepared for the physical test in the audition for Keanu Reeves’ movie. She added,
“We’d jumped through many hurdles, screen testing, and many auditions. They brought these stunt coordinators from Asia. It was the physical test. I’m flexible and agile, but I’m lazy.”
Salma had a difficult time doing the stunts, while Carrie-Anne Moss completed the physical tests easily. Hence the role was ultimately given to her. Hayek appreciated Moss on the show,
“She was so fit, she was so focused, she was so disciplined. She was so capable.”
Carrie-Anne Moss received a lot of exposure and stardom with the movie, which landed her among the top stars.
