South Park, the iconic American sitcom is known for being a provocative series that often takes aim at the current world problems. Often falling into controversies for their outspoken opinions and directed jokes, American singer and rapper Lizzo did not enjoy a joke directed towards her in the latest episode of South Park.
Depicting the misadventures of Stan, Kyle, Eric, and Kenny throughout various situations, the animated show has been running since 1997 and continues to produce relatable episodes that talk about the modern world. South Park Takes A Brutal Dig At American Singer Lizzo
In a special episode titled The End of Obesity the long-running animated show took a dig at the drug Ozempic which was allegedly used by celebrities in Hollywood to reduce weight drastically. The episode starts with Eric in a doctor’s office wanting the drug to reduce weight.
Things take a turn, however, when Eric isn’t able to afford the medicine and the insurance won’t cover it for him. What happens next is a brutal dig at American singer and rapper Lizzo who became famous for spreading body positivity.
In the special, the doctor tells him “I’m going to write you a prescription for Lizzo. She’s a really good singer who talks about body positivity, and just being happy with the way you look.” However, the trolling doesn’t end there. The doctor further continues “I want you to listen to Lizzo five times a day, and watch her videos just before bedtime. I’m afraid you’ll have to be on Lizzo for the rest of your life.”
The episode further delves into a sarcastic tone with lines like “Who needs Ozempic when you got body positivity?” and more. Lizzo, who is known for her songs like About Damn Time and Good As Hell, didn’t take kindly to the troll.
