Xbox is set to deal a massive blow to PlayStation with the Game Pass getting more premium games from the Microsoft Activision merger. PlayStation and Xbox always go side-by-side. Whenever one of them does something new, the other does the same thing in a better way. Sony’s Playstation and Microsoft’s Xbox have separate fanbases. So, it is quite common to see fans having heated debates regarding which console is better.
Sony’s PlayStation had a great start in 2023. People were busy with God of War: Ragnarok, which was released at the end of last year. But as time passed, Microsoft began to capture the market with its console. With Starfield and Microsoft buying Activision-Blizzard, the PlayStation is speculated to get another blow from Microsoft before the year ends.
Xbox Game Pass Could Line Up Activision Games Sooner Than Mentioned
Xbox is on a roll with Starfield being an exclusive, and almost every gamer wants to get their hands on the game. Apart from that, October 13 is set to be the auspicious day when the Microsoft-Activision merger finally happens. Activision Blizzard has already released a statement mentioning that the gaming titles under its banner will come to Game Pass in 2024.
It’s awesome to see anticipation building for Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® III. As we continue to work toward regulatory approval of the Microsoft deal, we’ve been getting some questions whether our upcoming and recently launched games will be available via Game Pass.— Activision Blizzard (@ATVI_AB) October 9, 2023
But speculations are going around that the titles will be released under Game Pass earlier than the mentioned date. Even though it contradicts the official statement, Jez Corden, an avid gaming journalist, believes it. After the merger takes place, Microsoft and Activision will require some time to bring those games under the same banner. So, they had opted for 2024.
The official X (Twitter) page of Activision Blizzard also mentioned trying to get those titles as soon as possible. Jez Corden believes that several of new games will hit Xbox Game Pass once the deal is finalized. For the moment, it is still speculation. But fans do believe in Jez Corden.
More Good News For Xbox Users
Xbox users have more good news in store for them. Earlier this year, the Xbox 360 servers were shut down. But with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 releasing soon, the gaming community wants to play the older games for nostalgia. Jez Corden revealed that to bring back the nostalgia, Microsoft has made the Xbox 360 servers active again.
The old Call of Duty games are set to hit Game Pass first, followed by the premium ones. PlayStation has to deal with massive blows that are coming from Microsoft. There seems to be no end to it. With the speculation surrounding the Game Pass, these blows are only going to increase until PlayStation has something in store for later.
Jez Corden is one of the most reliable gaming journalists. So, it is true that the gaming community will believe him. But since there has been no official confirmation, the gamers don’t want their expectations to go too high. For the moment, they are waiting for the Microsoft and Activision deal to be finalized. Only then can we know what is in store for us.
