San Diego Comic Con is currently underway, and yesterday the panel everyone has been waiting for arrived in explosive fashion, with Insomniac Games dropping banger after banger with a new story trailer, story information, character information and even some limited edition merchandise!
It’s no secret that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the biggest game of the year for PlayStation 5, as much as that’ll hurt to read for Square Enix and Final Fantasy 16 fans, it’s not really a contest. With that comes plenty of perks, as well as expectations.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition PS5
Insomniac Games’ San Diego Comic Con panel was called Symbiotic Relationships, really digging into the whole Venom of it all. It was promised we’d see more of the highly anticipated foe and they definitely delivered. With the story trailer focusing so much on the most famous Marvel Symbiote, fans now have as many questions as they got answers.
Featuring members of the development team including creative director Bryan Intihar, senior art directo Jacinda Chew and narrative director Jon Paquette, as well as members of the cast including Miles’ Morales Nadji Jeter, Mary Jane Watson’s Laura Bailey, Peter Parker’s Yuri Lowenthal and for the first time, Venom’s Tony Todd, the veteran horror actor.

Pictures of the cast and development team enjoying their time in San Diego have peppered social media for the last few days, increasing the hype for the event, but even huge expectations weren’t enough to let fans down come the panel.
As well as the aforementioned story trailer, a Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 limited edition PS5 and controller were unexpectedly shown off, and they look good! Better than good. They look great! Fans of the franchise will now be able to purchase both the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 limited edition PS5 and controller, but you’ll still have to wait a little longer, with pre-orders starting next Friday 28th of August, and releasing alongside the game on October 20th.
Sporting the standard Spider-Man red on both the console and controller, the Venom-like black tendrils are reaching across and taking over, as with the character in-game. Sporting a white Spider-Man logo in the centre of the DualSense touchpad, and off centre in the corner of the console, it certainly makes a difference from the standard and boring white colours we’re used to with our console.
There’s plenty of options with regards to purchasing the newest merchandise, with the PS5 console and controller coming as a bundle, along with a digital copy of the game, or, you can buy the console covers (for those of us who don’t want to shell out for an entirely new PS5 to show our true fanboy colours) and the DualSense controller separately. Much less costly that way.
