There has been a lot of mystery surrounding Avengers 6. Marvel has released little to no information about what can be expected from the film. Not only does its release date keep moving around, but fans also have no idea about its story, not even knowing who the villain will be. With this much ambiguity around a project, speculation and rumors are inevitable, and fans begin to form quite a lot of theories.

The one that has been making quite a lot of buzz around the internet is that Sam Raimi will be the director of this movie. Although reaction to this speculation has been quite mixed, fans think he is very capable of heading the series, especially because of the success he gained from Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man films.

However, if past evidence is taken into account, Avengers 6 may not be the best film for his capabilities. There is another film in the MCU that is waiting for a director and holds a lot more significance for the filmmaker.

Avengers 6 May Not Be The Best Match For Sam Raimi

Although Sam Raimi did show his talents when he made Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, one thing became evident through that film. Juggling a lot of characters or conflicts is not something the director is very good at. Although the cinematography is excellent, with some shots looking like art pieces, the writing became its Achilles heel; the story was simply not able to do the rest of the film justice.

With these criticisms in mind, it would appear that Raimi may not be the best person to direct Avengers 6. The movie has a lot riding on it, acting almost like Marvel’s last-ditch effort to maintain relevance. Choosing the right person to head the direction of the film is detrimental to its success, and if the rumors are to be believed, Marvel may be making the wrong choice with the Spider-Man director.

Unlike the Russo brothers, he does not have any experience with making projects with so many characters. However, he may be better suited for another successful series.

Sam Raimi Could Go Back To His Spider-Man Roots

One of Sam Raimi’s most successful projects to this date was the Spider-Man films he made with Tobey Maguire. The impact these movies had laid the very foundation of where Marvel Studios stands today. In 2010, the fourth installment of the series was canceled, and fans have been trying to kick-start it ever since.

Although there has been a lot of news surrounding this subject in recent times, there is another project that he could direct if the Maguire comeback does not pan out. Raimi could be the director of Tom Holland’s fourth Spider-Man film. Not only would such a step be nostalgic and hold significance, but it would also perfectly use his skills, considering just how iconic his films became.

Granted, Jon Watts is already expected to head the film, since he was the director of the first three movies as well; taking a different direction would certainly make many fans happy.
