In the video, the American-French actor is seen saying,

“Everyone knows me, and Timothée are besties. It’s important to have someone that you can laugh with.”

With a grin, Chalamet jokingly talks about how the Spider-Man: Homecoming actress “keeps [him] humble” with “3 tactics: intimidation, aggression…” Before he can finish, Zendaya snatches the camera away, and they both burst into laughter.

Obviously they’re both pulling each other’s legs. It’s evident that they had a great time on the set of Dune: Part Two.

Zendaya Opens Up About Awkward Dune 2 Romance

Zendaya talks about why it felt awkward doing romantic scenes with Timothée Chalamet in Dune 2. Her character, Chani, was a mysterious member of the desert-dwelling Fremen tribe in Denis Villeneuve‘s Dune: Part One, playing a small role in the larger story.

In the sequel Dune: Part Two, Chani will have a bigger part as her destiny gets more connected with Paul Atreides. The sequel will, of course, feature all the elements expected of an epic space opera, but the film will also have time for romance as Paul and Chani begin on a sci-fi love story.

The Oakland found it difficult to play the romantic part in Dune because of the story’s strange setting. Speaking to EW, she talked about how hard it was to understand how romance would work on a planet like Arrakis, with characters like Chani and Paul. She said:

“It was funny trying to figure out in this futuristic space talk, like, how do they flirt? What does that look like for a space warrior and the young duke of a planet? How do they show that they like each other? What does that even sound like? We were definitely trying to navigate that, which was funny because all of us were stumped. I think it’s just as foreign to us as it probably is to the characters. … I was like, does Chani get awkward? Does that happen to her? Does she know what that feels like?”

So, it’s definite that fans will get to see more of Chalamet and Zendaya in Dune: Part Two.

Dune: Part Two is set to release in theatres on March 1, 2024.
