With the release of Shadow of the Erdtree finally in sight, players are hopping back into Elden Ring and experiencing the game in completely new ways. Elden Ring‘s character creator is still one of the coolest and standout features of the game. Players have recreated popular characters like Shrek, Megamind, Arya Stark, and many more.
But now, it’s time for the unofficial Elden Ring x Mass Effect collab of our dreams. One player has recreated one specific villain from the massive space RPG game series, and it’s got fans awestruck in its absolute perfection.
Saren Arterius Invades The Lands Between
The secondary antagonist of Mass Effect, Saren Arterius, is making his way to The Lands Between in search of the Elden Ring.
On the r/Eldenring subreddit, user Saneroot posted a picture with their amazing character customization that beautifully recreated the Spectre himself with his famous quote, “Is submission not preferable to extinction?“.
I made Saren Arterius from Mass Effect in Elden Ring – “Is submission not preferable to extinction?”

The user states that they made this by accident when creating their Vordt of the Boreal Valley cosplay from Dark Souls 3. But it’d be hard to deduce if something like this were to be made by accident.
Multiple users also replied praising the amazing creation, with multiple exclaiming that the “character looks sick“.
This is yet another example of Elden Ring‘s vast array of features on full display, as even something as simple as a character creator has garnered its own little subcommunity inside the fanbase.
You can even follow the video above if you want to play as Saren Arterius himself, posted by the user from the Reddit post. Just make sure to also equip the following gear to complete the look:
- Head: Confessor Hood
- Chest: Zamor Armor
- Hands: Blaidd Gauntlets
- Legs: Fire Prelate Greaves
Saren Arterius is the Perfect Fit for Elden Ring
Saren Arterius is one of the most fondly remembered villains from the series, and for good reason. The Turian has left his mark on the community through his cold demeanor and overall evil presence.
He fits right into the world of The Lands Between, and with the way he acts and how he sounds, one wouldn’t even question if he was a boss in the game. His merciless nature makes him a perfect fit for the world of Elden Ring.
Many users have shared their opinions of the villain in detail on the r/masseffect subreddit, where they discuss what exactly stood out for them, and what exactly made him as intimidating as he was.
Saren was a great villain! He looked evil & badass, had a chilling voice and introduced the Reapers to establish them as the bigger threat. He was a great example of foreshadowing, as well as the indoctrination process. I love how he could break indoctrination momentarily to make one final decision.

Ultimately, Elden Ring has just got another guest arrival, and although it may not be in the form of an official collaboration, it may as well be just enough to keep fans excited and playing till the eventual release of Shadow of the Erdtree.
