GTA 6 hype continues to rise. We have another year to wait from its 2025 release window but the return to Vice City has many fans excited. GTA 6 will be the largest open world game Rockstar Games has produced so far. How big is the map then? If you look at the full official key art, there’s more to see such as the rest of the car, Jason’s lower body, and the surrounding buildings.

On the very right side, next to the tables and chairs, you can see a map. First discovered on Reddit before being sounded off on Twitter/X, could this be the official map for GTA 6? Or is this theory kind of a stretch?

The excitement for Rockstar’s next GTA entry is immense as the first trailer for GTA 6 has been viewed over 150 million times on YouTube. Many discussions and theories surround the project where every bit of information, big or small, could lead to something new.

Now that we have a full look at what GTA 6’s key art is showing, we have the full picture. Their license plate is from the GTA fictional state of Leonida based on the United States of America’s Florida, just like how San Andreas is based in California. In addition, the tagline of “Goodtime State” is referencing Florida’s nickname of the “Sunshine State.”

Rockstar Games have already made many notable references to Florida and its viral moments. Taking inspiration from its “Sunshine State” nickname continues their trend of pulling from the state’s culture and iconography.

The building behind Jason and Lucia is called Atlantis Hotel. More importantly, the building next to the hotel has a map on the furthest right side of the image. The map has multiple shapes with one major piece of land in the middle. Fans think it might be islands surrounding it, making up for Vice City beach and such.

While this theory first broke on Reddit, the Twitter/X user found the leaked GTA 6 map from 2022 and compared it. The shapes do look very similar but it’s from an old leak. Rockstar Games are likely aware this old map leaked and put it in the key art as an easter egg.

This has led to some not believing that’s the map for GTA 6. It could simply be for aesthetic purposes or lead to something bigger. Maybe that’s only one part of GTA 6’s massive open-world map and there are others they have yet to show.

Either way, this is the first map in GTA 6 official key art but only time will tell if this map will be part of the final product. If this is Rockstar’s “most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet,” then GTA 6’s map size will show it.

When Will GTA 6’s Map Release?

Rockstar Games have been very quiet ever since they dropped the first GTA 6 trailer. Silently accumulating millions of views on a less than two-minute trailer, returning to the open world of Vice City will be an event for gamers around the globe.

The devs continue to keep their heads down and work on the game. We don’t know when the map for GTA 6 will be officially released, let alone any new information. This portion found in the key art may or may not be part of the final game. We are still many days away from 2025 and I’m sure Rockstar Games will release new information, including a map reveal, from now until its launch day.

GTA 6 is scheduled to release in 2025 for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
