During an exclusive interview with the LA Times, she stated that the actor did not possess editorial control over Arnold, as she wanted to unravel every episode from the Commando actor’s life.

“There are a lot of documentaries now where the star commissions the project, but Arnold did not have editorial control. What was important to me was that no topic was off the table and we hit all of his popularly known failures or controversies.”

“This seemed to be the right time in his life, where he knew he needed to talk about things and was willing to do it. He seemed to understand that, ‘I’m going to be remembered for my successes but people remember the failures too.'”

“I can understand how it could appear that way, because Arnold obviously participated. We didn’t chronicle Arnold’s life in clips. It’s not a clip show. He sat for multiple interviews. So I expected it a bit. It is frustrating to hear, because he knew he couldn’t have that kind of control. But this is a guy who comes across as being in control in every situation.”

While Chilcott was frustrated to hear the brutal criticism for Arnold, she talks about the real Arnold Schwarzenegger, the one that fans do not get to see in the action films that he does.

“I can’t comment on that scene, as I didn’t do it. However, after we were done with filming outside of Arnold’s house one day — with the mini-donkey and the horse — Arnold goes, ‘I’ll be back in fifteen minutes.’ He got one of his colleagues, threw his cigar in his mouth that he hasn’t smoked all morning, got in the biodiesel Hummer, and flew down his driveway, at a million miles an hour. And this really is him. He lives to have fun. His real personality is not completely different from his brand.”

While Arnold Schwarzenegger is different from his movies, he remains one of the most influential men as he shares awareness of the importance of exercise and how to live to the fullest.
