Ever built up a dream in your head only to have it fall flat in reality? That’s something that happened to Ryan Gosling’s daughter when she came face-to-face with one of the world’s most iconic paintings.
The Mona Lisa holds a legendary status in the world of art. Brought to the canvas by the visionary Leonardo Di Vinci, the painting is perhaps one of the most famous works in history. But for a little girl, it seems, the reality didn’t quite live up to the hype.
Ryan Gosling’s Daughter Was Not Impressed With The Mona Lisa & The Louvre Museum
In an older interview on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Ryan Gosling discussed visiting the famous Louvre Museum in France. The museum is considered a heaven for art lovers and is home to famous historical pieces including The Great Sphinx of Tanis, Liberty Leading the People, Venus De Milo, and of course, The Mona Lisa.
While an artist might dream of visiting the Louvre, it was nothing more than boring for Gosling’s daughter. Gosling and Jimmy Fallon were discussing their beloved daughters when the Barbie actor recounted his experience with her daughter at the museum.
My youngest has a real power move where she’ll like – Here’s an example. We got to work in France and so we went to The Louvre. We saw, you know, “Winged Victory”, we saw “Venus De Milo”. And we’re standing in front of the “Mona Lisa” and she turns around and she goes, “This Museum”? (Gosling imitates her daughter doing thumbs down). And I said why? And she went “Because it is not good” – Ryan Gosling on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon
Ryan Gosling is in a relationship with Eva Mendes, whom he worked with in The Place Beyond The Pines (2012). The couple are parents to two daughters, Esmeralda Amada (born 2014) and Amada Lee (born 2016). Regardless, it is evident that the younger Gosling is not particularly fond of art museums, owing to her less-than-satisfactory past experience.
