When Gosling was asked if he would like to redo any of his previous roles, the actor quickly named his 2016 musical comedy film La La Land. Gosling explained that he was unhappy with the curve of his hand in one of the film’s dance numbers, which ended up on the film’s poster.

“I didn’t know this would become the poster for the movie, but I thought we were supposed to have our hands up and I thought it’d be cool to put my hand like that. Even though everyone told me it wasn’t cool.”

Gosling made the above statement about his awkward hand gesture in the poster for the film. The actor noted that while he was convinced his hand looked cool, looking at the poster numerous times made him realize that the posture did not look right. He added:

“It just killed the energy that way.”

As a result, it is evident that Gosling has been scarred and haunted by his posture in the still that features on the poster for La La Land. Therefore, the actor, who won his first Golden Globe award for his role in the film, wanted a do-over for La La Land.
