Sony canceled Andrew Garfield’s third installment The Amazing Spider-Man but the reception of the actor as Spider-Man was well reflected in his comeback cameo in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. Fans hailed the actor alongside Tobey Maguire’s classic Spidey as the Spider-Man trio appeared on the screen in the 2021 movie.  For Garfield, however, the deepest desire to be in The Avengers remained unfulfilled. Speaking with Vulture, the actor reflected on his jealousy. “I saw it, and I was blown away,” Garfield said of The Avengers released in 2012.

“And I’m going to see it again this weekend. I have no problem adding to the amount of money it’s making! [Laughs.] Joss Whedon is a genius, and it’s an incredible cast. I was very, very jealous, and I wanted to jump on the screen and play with them. It killed me that I wasn’t in it, but I understand why, and I’m not insulted. But hey, if Samuel L. Jackson wants to give me a shout, I’m there for the next one!”

Why not Kevin Feige? It would certainly be a huge hit doing wonders like No Way Home. Also, it is almost certain that fans would love to see the actor bringing the Amazing Spider-Man into the Avengers.

For Garfield and Maguire, it was a wonderful experience to wear the Spidey suit again after a long time. “No we were we were just too middle-aged white guys with baseball caps just got gonna see the movie,” Garfield told BBC Radio 1 explaining his experience in the movie.

“That was great, man. It was so great. I mean like, I honestly, it’s so weird to be now friends with Toby because he was, he was my, like I would look in the mirror and try and do his lines every or like with my friend Terry McGinnis we would just try and convince each other that we could do it and it was fantasy fulfillment being able to be with him and being able to support Tom and be a part of it with him. I was just, you know, you know.”

The 40-year-old also praised the director Jon Watts, “This director John Watts, just I don’t know how he, I honestly don’t know how he did it like to bring in how was it two decades story and to make it feel fresh.” And to make it feel “purposeful and connected and actually healing.” It was cosmic to re-live his scenes, wearing his suit again. The actor is certainly hopeful for making another appearance in any MCU project and Sony and Marvel Studios might just agree to that considering the global demands of fans.
