The film is considered one of the worst superhero films ever made and Brolin is still taking the blame for the disastrous results of the film and continues to criticize its quality.

Years before his Marvel fame as Thanos and Cable, Josh Brolin starred in the 2010 superhero film Jonah Hex, based on the DC character of the same name. The film faced many problems during its production and Brolin admitted to not enjoying making it, saying “the experience of making it — that would have been a better movie based on what we did” (via Indiewire). The film was an epic disaster when it came out.

Brolin is still not over criticizing the film as he told GQ in a recent interview that he would never stop bashing it cause he knew it was a horrible film. He knew that the director of the film Jimmy Hayward was too inexperienced to handle the project. However, he has stopped blaming him for its failure. He said,

“I won’t ever stop shitting on Jonah Hex, because it was a shi**y fu**ing movie!… It reminded me [that] you can’t just keep shitting on somebody”

In the interview, Brolin also revealed that he recently reconnected with Hayward and the director apologized for the failure of the film. He also found out that Hayward had bone cancer. Although Brolin makes fun of and mocks the film, it is one of the films in his career that he wishes he never made in the first place.

Josh Brolin played Cable in Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 2. With Deadpool 3 soon coming out and all the multiversal elements of the film, fans have been wondering whether Brolin would reprise his role in the threequel. However, Brolin claims he does not know whether he will appear in the film.

In an interview with Collider, he joked that he might not be in the film because Reynolds doesn’t like him. He then looked at the camera and hinted that there may be a chance he might be in the film. He said,

“No. I don’t know. Because Ryan [Reynolds] doesn’t like me? I don’t know. Maybe.”

Brolin is returning as Gurney Halleck in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part 2 which is releasing worldwide on March 1, 2024. He will also star alongside Peter Dinklage in the upcoming comedy film Brothers directed by Max Barbakow. He will also lead the thriller Weapons from director Zach Cregger.
