One such method he experimented with was the use of ice baths – which is something that Joe Rogan regularly uses as a way to keep himself in the best shape possible. While he initially thought the method would be a good thing, the actual experience proved to be quite different from his expectations, as he described it as a horrible experience instead.

Getting regular massages and doing whatever we can to maintain good physical condition. I was told to have an ice bath once, which I did once, and it was the most horrific experience. In my head it sounded like a great idea, so I filled my bath with ice and water and it was absolutely horrendous. In my brain, it was going to be something completely different, but the reality of it, I could only stay in it for 30 seconds.”

In retrospect, he admitted that the envisioned benefits did not align with the harsh reality of the icy plunge. The discomfort was pretty obvious, as he could only endure the chilling experience for just 30 seconds before finding it unbearable.
