In a recent interview with Glamour, Sydney Sweeney was candid about the sudden demise of Angus Cloud at the age of 25. Both the duo are connected from Euphoria which will likely release its third season not until 2025. Given that the filming is due next year, she added that the set would surely be surrounded with heaviness due to such a tragic loss. 

“[My costars and I] were constantly on the phone with each other crying, because it was just such a shock.”

She further commented that the loss still feels unreal to her.

“I don’t think it’ll truly feel real or hit me until we’re filming and I won’t see Angus on set. (At least) when we are filming, all of our eyes are on each other and we’re there for each other, just in a different way than we’re able to when we’re all in very separate places in the world.”

She further stated how interesting the fact is that even if someone from the industry passes away, they are still alive in many forms.

The 25-year-old actor passed away from an accidental overdose at his family home in Oakland, California. The Alameda County Coroner’s Office confirmed the reason behind his death stating that he died from “acute intoxication due to combined effects of methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl and benzodiazepines.”Cloud’s family meanwhile had “intensely struggled with this loss” as his father also passed away a while ago before his death. 

His family shared a statement via PEOPLE stating,

“The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend.”

They further added that the actor was “open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”

The actors starred together in the first two seasons of the HBO series. Sweeney portrayed the role of Cassie Howard meanwhile Cloud portrayed Fezco “Fez” O’Neill, a drug dealer.

The show is streaming on HBO Max.
